The Royal Hospital School

Set in 200 wooded acres of coastal Suffolk countryside, the Royal Hospital School provides an all-round education enriched by its naval heritage.

“Navigating Success.”

Everyone has the potential for greatness, but we are all individuals. That is why we focus on getting to know every one of our pupils and finding out what motivates them and makes them happy. By understanding a young person’s strengths and passions, we can help them make the right choices at the right time, navigating them through their all-important formative years and ensuring their education becomes the foundation for happiness and success.” Simon Lockyer, Headmaster

As well as its extensive academic curriculum, the school has a long-established reputation for musical excellence. It also offers outstanding sports’ facilities including an RYA Sailing Academy and the Graham Napier Cricket Academy, a large and committed Combined Cadet Force and the opportunity to enjoy all sorts of interests and activities with more than 80 clubs to choose - from martial arts to making cakes. With 450 full boarders and many teachers living onsite, there is a real sense of community where every child feels nurtured, supported and encouraged.
