Hazlegrove delights in children being children and encourages individuality alongside traditional qualities such as compassion, respect, integrity, generosity, grace and kindness. Set within 200 acres of Somerset parkland with outstanding facilities and easy connections to London, we welcome boarders aged 7 to 13.
Our children learn to develop a sense of self and well-being in a safe and nurturing environment as well as strong relationships and moral principles. Hazlegrove provides a first-class education for all and offers an exciting range of opportunities and experiences. A vibrant and creative curriculum, exceptional pastoral care and stunning rural Somerset location combine to make children feel nurtured, motivated, inspired and encouraged to love learning for life. Within this family focused environment, academic rigour sits alongside endeavour and ambition.
A full weekend programme of activities is available. Pastoral care is key to the strength and overall success of the boarding at Hazlegrove; it is at the heart of everything that we do. Pupils have much to celebrate - 114 scholarships and awards have been gained at 13+ in the last four years to 20 different senior schools including our own senior school, King’s Bruton, which provides the option of continuity through to 18. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your child to reach their potential, grow in confidence and make friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
Our approach is always one of flexibility and understanding and we work alongside our serving families offering a home-from-home for the children, enabling parents to make the most of their career opportunities. Our package for forces families is transparent - there are no unwanted surprises and the fees that families pay (approximately 10%) include a fantastic weekend activities programme. Children of serving parents make up a unique part of our Hazlegrove family and there is lots of support and advice on hand from the school community. We have a wonderful group of Boarding Representatives who will introduce you to other boarding families by contacting you even before your child joins the school and talk you through all of those questions that parents need to have answered.
A bucolic setting, incredible nurturing staff, and an environment that champions all that is good about childhood.
