Rishworth School

Rishworth is a thriving independent, co-educational, boarding and day school for children from age 3 to 18.

“F1 in Schools World Finalist, leading the way in STEAM.”
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathmatics)

Rishworth’s magnificent buildings, extensive grounds and superb Pennine location chart a 300 year coeducational heritage. Just half an hour from Manchester airport, Rishworth warmly welcomes expat and International students to join a forward thinking and innovative UK boarding school that retains traditional values.

At Rishworth, students develop a life-long love of learning, curiosity and discovery; a sense of responsibility, purpose and ambition; a capacity for both self-reliance and co-operation; and an appreciation of personal virtues and spiritual values.

The quality boarding accommodation includes comfortable bedroom-studies, well-appointed and equipped boarding day rooms and a popular ‘Boarders Bar’ that provides a focus for evening activities. The school has excellent facilities ranging from a state-of-the-art Sports Club and Swimming Pool, to a wonderful Performing Arts Studio.

The school offers a wealth of experience in looking after the children of parents from all over the UK and abroad. A broad, balanced  academic curriculum and stimulating teaching underpin our success by making work fun as well as challenging.

A wide range of GCSE and A Level options provide students with opportunities to focus on their strengths and interests and through its curriculum Rishworth aims to draw out: a love of learning and the will to succeed; a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, purpose and fulfilment; a capacity for both self-reliance and co-operation and overall an appreciation of personal virtues and spiritual values.

Rishworth encourages individual as well as group success, and students excel across a wide range of activities, interests and pursuits, but of particular mention is the student-led F1 in Schools team. Centurion Racing sped through local, regional and national stages to represent the UK at the World Finals in Abu Dhabi in December 2019. Awarded first prizes in Research and Development, Sponsorship and Marketing and Verbal Presentation, Centurion finished as third place World Champions, and incidentally had the only young women on the podium.
