Moira House Girls School

Girls Senior School
"A Moira House education produces strong leaders, independent thinkers, sensitive and sophisticated young women.”
Founded in 1875, Moira House Girls School is a leading independent day and boarding school for girls aged 0 – 18 years.

Nestling in 15 acres of attractively landscaped gardens on the beautiful South Downs in the popular coastal resort of Eastbourne, Moira House combines Victorian charm with 21st century technology. With the Downs to our back and views to the sea from the front, the location of our school is idyllic.

Moira House is renowned for its family atmosphere and we take pride in our excellent pastoral care. Every girl is valued as an individual and encouraged to seize every opportunity to develop and grow, to be all they can be – to dare to dream.

As a Top 20 Independent Girls School, our examination results are excellent and our scholarship programmes are challenging and enriching. We believe that academic xcellence is not just the product of outstanding teaching and learning, but evolves through an holistic approach to education. Our extensive extra-curricular programme aims to develop the whole person and to challenge themselves to try something new, as well as offering opportunities for service to others, a core value of Moira House.
